CD PROJEKT RED, the publisher behind the highly-successfully RPGs The Witcher 3 – Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, has announced a new partnership with Futuregames. As part of this partnership,  CD PROJEKT RED will become the main strategic partner with Futuregames Warsaw, the Polish division of one of the best Rookies-certified game dev schools in the world. Both of the companies will work together to expand access to education in the various fields of the video game industry.

Futuregames is a game dev academy from Sweden and it offers a whole range of different types of education at many different levels, from short courses for experienced professionals to full-time programs for aspiring game developers who are just starting in the industry. With additional support from CD PROJEKT RED, the new Warsaw-based branch of Futuregames will be offering courses in game programming, design, and art. Lessons will be held in English, on-site in Warsaw, and will be open to all EU citizens and valid student visa holders.

The very first batch of courses will commence in September 2023, with Futuregames Warsaw attendees getting to create a total of four games. All of them will be using provided professional-grade game dev software and hardware and with their creators retaining full ownership of the games they make. With CD PROJEKT RED’s involvement, Futuregames Warsaw will be able to offer a 50% discount on tuition fees for all students in the first year of the partnership. The company will also provide Futuregames scholarships to up to nine of the highest-performing students in the partnership’s second year.

Apart from scholarships, students will also get 30 weeks of internships to course participants at CD PROJEKT RED where students will be able to work alongside the developers of the critically-acclaimed The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077.
