For some reason, you can romance the Dreamlover and this Baldur’s Gate 3 Dreamlover Romance Guide will help you achieve this achievement.

Dreamlover Romance Guide – Baldur’s Gate 3

You will create the Dreamlover just like you create your main hero so you can go crazy with the appearance. Consider creating the one perfect lover that you always have in the back of your mind and now in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can do just that and it goes a step further because the tadpole in your brain will tempt you with you and if you give in, there are some steamy scenes for you to watch as your virtual character does the deed with another character inside its own head.

Using Illithid Wisdom to achieve True Soul, only then it is possible to have a romantic interaction with your Dreamlover so for a detailed guide on that, make sure to check out the Baldur’s Gate 3 True Soul and Illithid Wisdom Guide which will help you choose the right decisions and attain the True Soul status which is required in order to romance the Dreamlover. Make sure you make the right choices during the detailed dialogue choices in order to achieve True Soul status.

You will have your romantic relationship with the Dreamlover in the form of dreams.

Dream #1

You will have your very first dream with the Dreamlover after you have used Illithid Wisdom at least twice during the main story campaign of the game. You can long rest at your camp and these sequences will only happen during the long rests. During the first dream, your character will feel sick and once you are asleep, the Dreamlover will first appear in your dream.

You have the option to succumb to its temptation or tell it to go away. If you want to pursue romance, you must give in and this will also grant your Illithid Powers which are special abilities that use psychic force. Once it is done, you can watch the dream unfold and continue on with your game while enjoying new powers.

Dream #2

You will get the second dream once you have used the Illithid Wisdom over four times. Long rest at a camp and you will trigger the second dream where the Dreamlover will show you a conquered world and promise that everything can be yours if you give in to the darkness. This is essentially the tadpole luring you into the darkness so expect it offering everything to you.

Dream #3

After having used Illithid Wisdom over five times, you can trigger the third dream. Long rest at a camp to trigger this vision and this time around, you will get three conversation options:

  • “Tell me how. I’ll do anything to make this stop.”
  • “I’m not fighting you! It’s this wretched parasite!”
  • “Of course I can feel it. This is you! It’s been you from the start!”

After making a choice, you will be presented with three additional responses:

  • [Charisma 15]: Resist both her and the urge.
  • Surrender to the urge – last out.
  • “I want to rip you open. I can’t help it.”

Choosing the first and the third option will cause the Dreamlover to leave although it will tell you that both of you will meet again however if you choose the second option, your character will start choking the Dreamlover and it will warn you of the consequences. This will conclude the third and final cutscene. Not much of a love scene that you were expecting but this is the entire scenario that you can have with the Dreamlover.
