Normally, you would choose character class which would give you a pre-defined set of skills and abilities.

In Code Vein, you choose a Blood Code and each Blood Code comes with a set of pre-defined active and passive skills which you will at your disposal while playing the game. It is vital that you pick the right Blood Code which suits your playstyle because it will massively help you since the game is basically an RPG and you must choose your own options to be good at it. Blood Code Guide – Code Vein

Our Code Vein Blood Code Guide details all Blood Codes in Code Vein along with their active and passive skills that you will acquire when you choose a specific Blood Code. Right at the start of the game, you will only have access to Fighter, Caster and Ranger Blood Codes. There are a total of 7 Blood Codes in Code Vein so you will need to unlock the remaining 4 Blood Codes before you can choose skills from them.

  • Darkseeker – Defeat the boss in Dried Up Trenches and interact with the hunter.

  • Hades – Unlocked after you complete the game.
  • Harmonia – Defeat the Successor of the Throat boss.
  • Heimdall – Unlocked at Home Base. Tied to the main story progression.

  • Hunter – Found in the Ruined City Center.
  • Ishtar – Defeat Queen Revenant’s Reborn boss to obtain this blood code.
  • Isis – Found at the end of Cathedral of Blood.
  • Mercury – Defeat two main story bosses and then speak with Coco at the Home Base.
  • Prometheus – Speak with Louis at the Home Base.
  • Queen’s Claw – Defeat the Successor of the Claw boss.
  • Queen’s Breath – Tied to the main story progression. It will unlock automatically when you reach a certain part of the story.

  • Survivor – Found in Ashen Cavern.

Aset

Aset is primarily a ranged attack and it is best for players who want to attack their enemies from a distance. It comes with the following skills.

Blast Bolt Fires a powerful projectile which deals electrical damage to your enemies
Draconic Stake Your blood is transformed into a huge stake that lands a powerful piercing attack at your enemies
Fourfold Verdict Fires a large number of lightning bolts at your enemies
Indra’s Coil Fires three lightning bolts at your enemies
Plasma Roar Lands a powerful electrical attack at your enemies
Vow of Ichor Increases your maximum amount of ichor stored on the expense of your maximum health

Berserker

Berserker is best suited for players who want a powerful character who can take a decent beating while dealing damage. It comes with the following skills.

Balance Up Makes your character more resistant to going out of balance.
Blow of Madness Increases the power of the next attack by a great deal.
Dragon Lunge This can only be performed when you have a two-handed weapon equipped. A powerful dash attack which ends with a powerful overhead smash attack.
Iron Will Reduces any sort of damage taken for a little time.
Precision Makes it easier for you to stagger enemies for some time.
Royal Heart Makes your character difficult to throw out of balance.

Fighter

Fighter is the most rational of the classes. It focuses on melee attacks and the character has decent strength. It is also the most balanced class among all of the Blood Codes. It comes with the following skills.

Adrenaline Increases the attack power for some time
Blood Guard Creates a blood shield around you and your partner for a short time
Focused Stamina Usage Reduces stamina consumption by your character for some time
Health Boost Grants health boost to your character’s max health
Triple Annihilator This powerful combo can only be performed with a two-handed weapon equipped

Prometheus

Prometheus is a very strong damage dealer but it cannot take a lot of punishment when compared with other character classes in the game. If you choose Prometheus as your Blood Code, you should try to avoid enemy hits as much as possible. It comes with the following skills.

Blade Dance With every successful hit on the enemy, your attack power is increased
Fire Storm Fires a barrage of fire attacks at our enemy which also staggers them
Flame Weapon Grants you and your partner fire damage for a short time
Phantom Assault This is an offensive attack which makes you invisible and then performs a powerful jump slash on your enemies.
Savvy Evasion Each dodge will grant you increased focus
Warding Mark Adds inhibit effect to your equipped weapon for a short time

Ranger

As the name suggests, Ranger is a support class and excels at helping others and scouting the area. It comes with the following skills.

Guard Stability Fill your Focus gauge and your blocks will consume less stamina
Shifting Hollow A very effective dodging move which transforms you in mist form and dashes forward

Bloody Impact Uses stored ichor to initiate a powerful AoE attack which sends enemies away from your location
Floating Light Illuminates your surroundings with a light bulb at your feet
Focused Carnage Reduces the focused gauge cost of your attacks
Frost Spike Launches an ice projectile attack at your enemy
Heroic Fang Charged drains deal more damage to your enemies
Revenant’s Greed Enemies drop loot more frequently
Steady Bulwark Increases your defense against physical attacks for a short time
Strength Up Increases your character’s strength
Stun Removal Quickly removes stun effect from your character and your partner
Stun Resistance Makes it harder for your enemies to stun you
