Venue, Dates Announced for Upcoming 2022 Pokemon World Championships

The Pokemon Company International has announced the venue and dates of the upcoming 2022 Pokemon World Championships. According to the latest press release, the 2022 Pokemon World Championships will take place August 18-21, 2022, at ExCel London. At the event, top Pokemon players will be invited to compete in Pokemon Sword and Shield games, the Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokken Tournament DX, Pokemon UNITE, and Pokemon GO for the title of World Champion.

Players who want to participate in the championships will need to use the Event Locator to find out where they can compete in their area. There is no advanced registration for smaller tournaments and all players need to do is show up with a valid Pokemon TCG deck or system. Tournaments at the Regional level and above require advance registration so you will need to check the tournament listings in your area for them.

Most of the Pokemon Championship Series events are operated by independent Tournament Organizers so you will need to get in touch with your local organizer for additional information. The entry fee is at their discretion as well.  The best players in these events can earn invitations to the Pokemon World Championships. Competitors will need to earn a requisite number of Championship Points during the season to receive an invitation.

For watching these events, all fans of Pokemon are invited. The Pokemon Company International has a dedicated page for information regarding all of the events featured in the 2022 Pokemon Championship Series including video game series, TCG series, Go series, UNITE series, and Pokken series. During the 2022 Pokemon World Championships, the location will also serve as a Pokemon Center where fans will be able to purchase a wide variety of products including a range of items themed around the tournament. The Pokemon Center will remain open while supplies last. Invited players will not have to pay any additional fees however all spectators will be required to pay a nominal fee for the spectator badge.
