How to Fake Shots in FIFA 22

FIFA 22 is filled with a ton of strategical plays and skills which also include fake shots in the game. Considering that it is the best football game currently out there, there are a plethora of moves, skills, and types of ways you can play football.

One such special move is to fake shots in the game. Much like in real-life football where you have seen the best football players perform tricks, fake shots sit on the top in the list of moves.

How to Fake Shots in FIFA 22

Fake Shots allow you to dupe the opponent, leaving them guessing if you are going to shoot or produce another trick. This works especially well when you are attacking and have a defender ready to cross tackle you for possession, or when you want defenders to commit to their move once they see you are about to shoot. What this does is that it throws the opponent off completely, opening up a potential window for a goal or a pass to a nearby teammate.

To perform a Fake Shot, proceed with the normal shoot button but immediately follow up by pressing the X (PlayStation) or the A (Xbox) buttons. This will trigger your player to go for the shoot animation, but then fake it after a short hesitation. This quick move is enough to throw players off but allows you to pass it elsewhere or still have possession of the ball for a repositioning.

What is best is that you can quickly move in any direction after faking a shot, which seamlessly ties this whole move from the beginning to the end. Having said that, move skill moves or the fake shot itself are performed well when you are good with your timing. This, of course, comes with practice but isn’t anything impossible. In addition, performing too many fake shots will make you predictable, and while this move is really powerful, any opponent anticipating it will hardly react to it if you are too frequent with the move.
