In this Madden 20 Scouting guide, we will show you some scouting tips when you venture in the Franchise mode of Madden NFL 20. If you want to build a well-rounded roster while also maintaining it. This is because you will be losing players to retirement and free agencies, so to maintain the roster, you will need to draft.

Madden 20 Scouting Guide

Below we have detailed how you can scout in Madden NFL 20.

Tips for Scouting

Before you begin, you should be aware of where you will be able to earn more scouting points per week, and where you will be getting scouting discounts. Once you are scrolling through the positions, you will see that many positions will only require 11, 7 and 3 points to fully scout as opposed to the 15, 10, and 5.

This means that you are effectively saving 9 points from those players that you scout from those positions. While it may not seem a lot, it can give you the ability to fully scout three more players under normal conditions.

Expert Scouting Coach Package

If you are playing the Franchise mode as a head coach, you should get the Expert Scouting Coach Package. With this, the coach is going to be getting extra experience points when completing goals throughout the season. What the package does is increase the number of weekly scouting points to 200 from the previous 175.

Head over to the Team tab, and go to My Coach, then choose the option to Spend Coach XP. This where you can purchase the expert scouting coach package. Remember, while the number increase is not much, it will accumulate over the entire course of the season and will allow you to fully scout 15 more players. This will also give you a better chance of drafting better players in the draft.

Choose What is Best for You

The scouting screen contains the breakdown of both offenses and defenses of the positions. This will give you a brief idea of where your weaknesses are and where you should put more focus on when scouting.

When you see positions with a C or anything lower than that, then you should scout early-round player on such positions. Also, make sure when the player contract ends or if they are going to retire.

Draft Board

Drafting prospects can make the drafting screen seem a little overwhelming. So you should use the Draft Board to make things simpler. If you think you have a player that you think is good to be drafted, press Y and this player will move to your draft board.

At the sorting tab, open the draft board. Here all the players that you added will be listed. Now you can sort the players according to your preference.

Know the Value of Your Picks

During the first round, you should try to get immediate starters players that can contribute to the team immediately. The second round should follow the same logic, but you should be a little lenient so that you don’t push the players to start right away, but contribute in the future.

During the third round of draft, it will be hard to find starters after the first two rounds. You should find players that can contribute immediately and that over time can progress to full-time starters.

Following the third round, the fourth to the seventh round will where you will start getting diminishing returns. This is the best time to go for chances on players that may have been missed in the draft. Though they might not be needed, they would present a greater value than a player at a position of need.
