Bohemia Interactive has announced that their previously Xbox One exclusive shoot-and-loot title Vigor is releasing on Nintendo Switch soon. This announcement was made during the recent Nintendo Direct which was held on March 26, 2020, however, the studio has now announced that players on Nintendo Switch can now take part in the Closed Beta.
The Closed Beta is now live and will run all the way until April 16, 2020. The registration for the Closed Beta is closed now however players who managed to get in can now experience the game before it comes out. Commenting on the Nintendo Switch release of Vigor, Project Lead Petr “pettka” Kolář said:
After the successful period that Vigor spent exclusively on Xbox, we feel it’s time to take another step forward and bring post-war Norway to a larger player base — This first step being Vigor’s launch on the Nintendo Switch™. Nintendo players will be able to hop into a special version of the game, while Xbox players will enjoy the release of Season 3.
We can safely assume that after a Nintendo Switch release, Vigor may eventually arrive on PC and PS4 as well since the developer wants to expand the player base of the title. There is a big chance that Vigor may support crossplay between platforms as well because nearly all online shooters today support crossplay to allow a more immersive experience to players. However, we will need to wait and find out in the coming days whether it will support crossplay or not.
Vigor was released last year on Xbox One as an exclusive title. We reviewed the Xbox One version of Vigor and we fairly enjoyed the game. Since its release, Vigor has received tons of changes and feature additions. In February 2020, Season 2: Hunters arrived for Vigor which added tons of new content to the game along with a new Battle Pass. While Nintendo Switch players will get all of these updates and features, Xbox One players will get the Season 3 of the game.
